Wasserdrache

Nachdem ich in den letzten Tage gefühlte tausend Tauchvideos auf youtube gesehen habe, um in Unterwasser-Stimmung zukommen, habe ich angefangen den Wasserdrachen von Schleich zubemalen. Das ganze ist ein Experiment, da die Farben (bis auf das Gold) Lacke für Porzellan-Malerei sind, aber so wie es aussieht, vertragen die sich sowohl mit dem Gummi als auch mit dem Lack darüber. *puh!*
Ganz wie echte nasse Schuppen ist das Farbschimmern beinahe unmöglich zu fotografieren, weil sich die Farbe je nach Lichteinfall ständig ändert. Die Bilder geben ansatzweise wieder, was das Auge sieht, aber in Person ist der Drache zehnmal schöner.
Hier folgt schonmal eine kleine Vorschau auf das Stückchen, was ich testweise bemalt habe, da muss ich aber auch noch an den Übergängen arbeiten.





English Summary:
After watching tons of dive vids on youtube those past days, I felt reasonably tuned to the necessary underwater-mood and began painting on the Schleich water-dragon.
It's an experiment, because the paint I am using is originally for glazing on porcellain. So far, it has set on the dragon and under the laquer I used to fixate it, though, so I hope I get away with that. It's that special quality of those types of paint that look just right on such a piece.
On the images above I tried to capture the inprogress work. Taking those pictures turned out harder than I thought, because just like with real wet scales, the paint is permanently changing with the angle of light hitting them.

Ich hatte mit Absicht (fast) alle Bilderlinks zerbrochen und damit meine Einträge unattraktiv gemacht (allerdings wollte ich die Bilder bei Gelegenheit sowieso verschieben) und habe nun die Jahre 2012 und 2011 wieder repariert, der Rest folgt dann nach und nach. (Nur falls jemand was im Archiv sucht)

I had deliberately broken my picture links thanks to those morons (but I wanted to move the folder anyway) and have so far restored the years 2012 and 2011, the rest will follow, the images are not lost. (Just in case somebody is digging through the archives...)

Der oder die Bloginhaber veröffentlichen fröhlich Inhalte und Bilder von mir und Anderen ohne vorher zufragen oder wenigstens in den Posts deutlich zumachen, das es sich nicht um eigene Inhalte handelt.
Ich habe dort entsprechende Kommentare hinterlassen, aber wenn sich nichts ändert, werde ich das Blog melden.

Naja mal sehen, kann ich notfalls ja immer noch machen, jetzt hab ich erstmal was anderes versucht.

Grrrh, I am so pissed right now! They really had the nerve to copy my entire blog! Most likely through the Newsfeed, this is pretty easy. I would prefer to disable that function now, but then my readers that have subscribed for articles by email are bummed.
Well, I'll keep that open for a last option, first I'm trying another thing.

Glück gehabt

Als Breyer das War Horse Joey auf dem Man O'War mold rausbrachte, war eigentlich klar, dass ich den haben möchte, damit meine Conga ein Mitglied mehr bekommt. Blöderweise war mir entgangen, dass das Modell limitiert ist und so war ich beim ersten Schwung zu spät, alle Modelle schon weg.
Doch der MPV hat nochmal welche reinbekommen und deshalb hatte ich nun verspätet Glück. :)


Die MoW-Conga auf dem neuesten Stand:


Carl ist natürlich auch glücklich- endlich mal wieder ein Vollblüter für seine Zucht. Hier sind erste Bilder des Hengstes Storm Warning





(Den Namen hat er bekommen, weil er gestern ankam und wir eine Unwetterwarnung samt dazugehörigem Gewitter hatten.)

English Summary:
When Breyer announced that War Horse Joey would be released on the Man O'War mold, I was elated because a pretty bay would be just right for my Conga. Unfortunately I missed the fact that the model is limited so when I got around to order one finally, the German sellers were already out of stock.
I groused and decided to wait, because sooner or later one of these would cross my path, I was sure. And I was right- the MPV got another batch of them in store. There was no way I would miss out again at that excellent opportunity and so I ordered one.
I have not regretted that - just look at the gorgeous shadings (lets not mention the overall quality, though..)- what an awesome horse.
Above you see a picture of the boxed horse as he arrived here, then just below my updated MoW-Conga-line.
As to his role in my herd- Carl was very delighted to finally see a Thoroughbred move in again after all those ponies. *g* His name is Storm Warning now and you can see some first halter pictures above.
He got this name since we had a storm warning through the radio broadcast and an impressive thunderstorm later that day, yesterday, so this was kind of the ideal incentive to name him.

Cassandra

Bei einer Auktion sprang den Reitern von den Ivorytower Stables kürzlich eine Pony-Stute ins Auge. Sie hatte einen ausgeprägten Taktfehler im Trab (*g*), aber das läßt sich ja leicht korrekturreiten, so dachten sie. Es stellte sich heraus, das auch der Tierarzt nochmal ran musste, aber nun ist alles ok.
Die Vorbesitzering hat Show-Fotos beigelegt, von denen ich hier zwei eingescannt habe. (Bild 1 ist von B.Heyer, die sie auch verändert hat. Bild 2 von der Vorbesitzerin)

Da mir der Name der Stute (Cuprita) nicht so gut gefiel, habe ich sie kurzerhand umbenannt und sie heißt nun Cassandra. Das Alter von 11 Jahren bleibt so, das passt prima, finde ich.
Schon im Stall hat sie sich mit unserem Snø angefreundet, sie stand vorher auch mit einem Falben zusammen, vielleicht deshalb. *g*

Die beiden durften deshalb heute zusammen auf die Weide.

English Summary:
Recently, the riders from the Ivorytower Stables visited a horse auction and set their sights on a pony mare. She had an obvious fault in the cadence of her trot, but everybody was confident that this could be corrected through training. They won the auction and the mare moved in with us. It turned out, that the trotting trouble was caused by "health problems" *g* so the vet had to fix the problem. But now she is as good as new.
I didn't like her previous name (Cuprita) all that much and have renamed her to Cassandra now, but I do keep the age she was assigned, as I think eleven years fit well.
Already in the stable she had made friends with Snø, probably because she used to live with a pale horse before, too. *g* Anyways, they were turned out together today and all went well.
The first two images are scanned in show-photos that came along with her, so nice to have a horse bring some good old paper-piccies, this has become so rare... The first of them was taken by her remaker and first owner B. Heyer, the second one is by her previous owner. The pasture pictures are by me.

Finderglück

Heute bin ich quasi über eine geniale Neuheit von Schleich gestolpert.
Neu im Programm ist das Auruun-Set, mit einem asiatischen Wasserdrachen. Je länger ich es ansah, desto weniger wollte ich es wieder loslassen. Nun ja... *g*
Die Bemalung is grottig, aber *das* kann man ja ändern, ich habe schon ein paar Ideen, ich liebe diese Drachenform. Ich schwanke dazwischen den Drachen nach einem dreifarbigen Koi zu bemalen oder was mit ganz vielen Blau- und Grüntönen. Mal sehen, für was ich mich entscheide.

Das hier ist der Drache, wie gesagt, die Bemalung sieht merkwürdig aus, aber Form und Details sind super:


Wenn ich solche Farben hätte würde ich auch grimmig schauen. *g*



English Summary:

Today I trundled past a toystore and found out that Schleich has made a most awesome large(r) sculpture of an Asiatic Waterdragon - with the worst paintjob in the world. But the sculpture is very well done.
Once I held it in my hands my brain was flooded with ideas how to paint it. So of course I caved in and bought it. Also, this year is the year of the Waterdragon, so this very fitting indeed, LOL!! (Excuses, excuses)
Holding it, my ideas of colours are narrowing down to two different possibilities. I love the idea that they had, painting it patterned like a Koi- just messing it up in executing this properly. So one idea would be to find a fish in my favourite Koi patterns and paint after photo reference.
The other ideas is black over darkblues, darkgreens, lighter greens to gold on the fins. Like a gem from the river.
Hmmmm, tough decision... I think I will have to ponder this for a while... Maybe the dragon itself has an opinion, too...

Frisuren

Mildred durfte heute Lion des Montagnes reiten und hat die Gelegenheit genutzt ihn schick zu machen- leider hat sie dabei ihre Kappe vergessen.

English Summary:
Mildred was allowed to ride Lion des Montagnes today and used her chance at giving him some elegant hairdo. Unfortunately she forgot to wear her helmet for the photos, tssk!
When done with training, she took some pictures of Lion running free- two of them show the details of his mane nicely.

The other two pictures are the promised ones of Black Queen outdoors.

Hier sieht man gut, das sie nicht platt-schwarz ist, sondern braune Untertöne hat.


English Summary:
And done! Black Queen is restored to her own glorious self. *g*. Yesterday at the same time, she looked pretty fluffed up, but today the sealant was fully dry and so the 'hairdresser' did do something about her bad hair day -gloss on her eyes helped as well and there she is. I will take outdoor pictures with her soon, too.
On the last picture you can probably see that she is not solid black but has dark brown hues.

Modellpferde Wellness

Jedes Frühjahr guck ich mir mal meine Pappenheimer an und mache wenn nötig kleine Schönheits-OPs. Dabei restauriere ich aber nur, ich würde nie das ganze Pferd neubemalen, nur weil ich es jetzt besser kann. (Ich hab mal zeitweise anders darüber gedacht, aber ich war ja mal stolz als ich die Pferde fertig hatte, denn zu der Zeit war das das Beste was ich zustande gebracht habe. Nur weil ich inzwischen besser malen kann, heißt das aber nicht, das ich die Modelle nun nicht mehr mögen würde, deshalb haben sie verdient zubleiben wie sie sind.)

Als ich Dreamthief fertig hatte und in meine ToC-Conga entlassen habe, hab ich mir die Damen nochmal genauer angeguckt- ach so, das ist übrigens der momentane Stand meiner Sammlung an ToC-CMs:

- naja, jedenfalls waren meine beiden älteren CMs Irrlicht und Black Queen diesmal doch etwas überholungsbedürftig.

Irrlicht ist schon fertig und wieder auf der Weide:


Black Queen, ganz Diva, wollte, dass ich ihre Instandsetzung noch ein bisschen zeige. So sieht es also im Modellpferde-Spa aus. *g* Während Irrlicht hauptsächlich Kratzer hatte, hat Black Queen ein paar Materialunverträglichkeiten (sie ist eins meiner ersten CMs) die nun an diesen Stellen die Farbe reissen ließen. Ich habe die Stellen nun geschmirgelt und teils ausgebessert, nun muss nur noch wieder Farbe drauf.





Hier habe ich schon wieder die erste Farbschicht drauf. Ich werde da morgen sicherheitshalber aber noch Lack draufsprühen, deshalb dauerts noch ein bisschen, bis auch Black Queen wieder aus der Klinik kann. *g*

So ein bisschen skeptisch guckt sie ja auch noch...

English Summary:

Every time in spring, I do check my horsies for damages and do some surgery where necessary, only to restore their former appearance, though. I'd never do a total makeover nowadays, but rather just restore the spots that have suffered. (I thought differently for a while, but now I think that a model that I was proud of because at the time of its creation it was the best that I could do, has deserved to stay as it is, even if my skills have improved in the meantime. I love them as they are.)

And when I finished Dreamthief recently and put her amongst her fellow ToC-CMs in my collection - the current resident ToCs you see above in the group-portray- I saw that Black Queen and Irrlicht, whom I remade myself, were in need of some TLC.
Irrlicht is already finished and back on the pasture (mainly scratches to paint over), but Black Queen wanted to be featured in this post. *g*
On her, there is a little more work, because there were some reactions between paint and remaking areas (since she is one of my really early ones, the remaking had occasionally a more experimental character. *g*) and I sanded those, refilled where needed and am now adding black paint again. She will be sealed with laquer after, so it will be a little while longer until she is back to old glory.
