4. Advent
English Summary:
Today on this fourth Advent Sunday, Carl hid close to the barn to get us a sneak peek of Susanna's mysterious Christmas-horse finally. And he was successful- here's the first picture of her and Belisar!
But ooh dear, look at her face- I bet he gets some unpleasant things to hear about this...
So to create a swift distraction here is another look at the sleigh, which is pulled by Yuletide, who arrived newly today. And a close up at all the delightful freight it carries.
Yuletide was seen, loved instantly and adopted, because this is the kind of model horse I really love- an older CM that oozes personality instead of soulless (and replaceable) super-perfection. This one was created in 1994 and seems to be made of a Breyer Foundation Stallion.

Mini-Me is in love. In a trade, we got the Hanoverian Glücksstern(=lucky star) to move to our barn from the Lowland Ranch . And he is sort of matching what I love in model horses by 300%, LOL!!
He was orignally remade by Dagmar Jung and later repaired and haired by Barbara Heyer.

English Summary:
Since I have the rivervalley of the Bille right behind my house now, I went to check the place out a bit. It was very beautiful but also overrun by walkers, mosquitos, hungry ducks and puppys, LOL!! All this aside, there are a couple of really nice potential photoplaces, especially as soon as the trees have cast their leaves off. You have several places where waterline and bank are exactly the same height, which makes me hope for a frosty winter, because this has such potential.
And of course I did bring a horse- and myself, so to speak. Above you find the reward for the efforts of barring all the mentioned "dangers" to take effect on my picture, LOL!!

Lustiges zwischendurch

The little people can really lend a hand every once in a while- and to avoid complaints that the real plants are waaaaaaaaaay too large to tend to, I found something that made such complaints void. *g* (This is my latest rescue-candidate, if you want to read more about it, go to my other blog)

Herbst

English Summary:
Today we had more of this lovely cold and clear autumn weather and it was really perfect for a little ride in our favourite park. And back at home, the moon was in the evening sky already, looking enchanted on the pastel-toned sky.

English Summary:
Finally, I manage to finish something again. "Just" haired/retouched OFs but heck, they have been waiting to get out for a while now.
Friendship:
Already in February, Minime had a surprise when arriving at the stable. Mildred grinned and said "Somebody left something for you here." For me???
In the box I found the young riding-pony stallion Friendship. I said hello and carefully took him out.
During the winter-weeks I had not much time to work with him, so he had a lot of leisure time to spend in the pasture, but now we have started with work on the long lead.
And with today's nice weather, we got a couple of really nice pictures taken.
Dreamthief:
When we brought our Witch Queen home from the pastures where she grew up in a herd of youngsters, she had to leave her best friend behind. After a while of distress, she settled with the situation and was soon well again. Her friend was not so well off and refused to eat well. So we took pity and got her here. Now we have two very happy horses reunited. As an extra, there are two pictures of Dreamthief on her own.

Naja- eigentlich müssen ja mal alle aufs Bild:

Nochmal Frohe Weihnachten!
English Summary:
A Christmas-Pony-Story
During the Days of Christmas, there is usually a little show-program in our riding arena and people train all year for little showtricks and the like which are then presented to the crowd. Here are a few highlights of this year.
Every year, another gray horse gets the honour to be decked out as "Christmas Horse" and have a free run through the arena. This year, it is Lion, who is shamelessly enjoying all the attention he gets.
Next to show up at the door was granny Lene together with a little black power-bundle who also was released to run free. The granny then used the occasion when everybody was admiring the pony stallion to explain that he was her Christmas gift to herself this year. And as you could see, he was also a very loveable character that learned easily, as he could already pick up presents after that very short time he was here. *g*
But it got even more interesting, as granny Lene went on that indeed she had to buy a stallion, because she is planning to breed riding ponies. At her age, all that mountain-scaling necessary to reach the saddle of the large warmbloods was growing more and more inconvinient, so she thought, she would rather make sure there were enough miniature "copies" of the big guys. And "homegrown" horses, as she phrases it, are always best, because you know exactly how they grow up.
She plans to base her little breeding enterprise on the pony mares Peppermint Patty and Medina.
At this point she was interrupted by Maren, who walked into the arena, grinning, leading a small, gray and elegant mare along. The gray mare was a Christmas present by friends who also have a stable of their own. Her name is Schneeflocke (Snowflake). For obvious reasons, she would not be able to ride her herself, but maybe granny Lene would feel up to ride her every now and then?
Schneeflocke is a daughter of Peppermint Patty and was born at the same stud, too. Everybody is absolutely delighted about the quality of her walk, too, she covers so much ground while walking so relaxed.
And who could ever resist a face like that?
So here is what our updated pony-mare-herd looks like now- and on the portray, they all look sooooo innocent. *g*
And just to be fair one piccie with all the ponies- the following chaos is up to you to imagine, LOL!!
Die "Ponies" sind die folgenden molds:
The "ponies" are the following molds:
Bartimaeus: Breyer Ginger (rrh by T.T.)
Schneeflocke: Breyer "Warmblood Mare" (gray Selle Francais) (ret. and haired by me)
Medina: Breyer Keen (rrh by P. u. B.H.)
Peppermint Patty: Breyer POA (ret. by D.S. and haired by me)

Aprilscherz

English Summary
Our aged gray stallion Aprilscherz (= April's Fool) got a little bath in the fountain of youth.*g* He had some dents and rubs (I already got him like that) which I had set to retouch recently, when I noticed that I would make way more use (picture wise) of him, if he was haired. Well that was quickly done. Here he is, looking a few years younger and Mini-Me is very happy that he is back under the saddle, too.

(The sign reads:"Stepping onto the dyke and/ or driving a bicycle is done at one's own risk. Please expect typical obstacles, dirt or uneven grounds (i.e. flotsam, sheep droppings, pasture fences or pot-holes)Dogs are to be lead on a short leash.")

Ööhm... ja, was denn nun?

Erwischt hat uns aber niemand.
(The sign reads:"Dyke for protection of the lands (behind it) - stepping on it at one's own risk. Driving, riding and camping not permitted. Dogs are to be lead on a short leash. The Amt für ländliche Räume, Husum")
English Summary:
I have just spent a week of holidays at the North Sea in Husum, Germany. Since I packed one horse, I can show you some impressions from the mini-person's view. *g*
Very early in the morning last Saturday, horse and gear were loaded up. A while later the rest followed.
Travelling started with some annoyance, as the train was over 30 minutes late to arrive in Hamburg. (They stole that time from my holiday, LOL!!) But since I was on holiday, I decided not to be too annoyed.
After two hours of train ride we arrived in Husum without further complications. That day was just shortly stretching the legs after travel and apart from that settling in. So this is riding where the town has green spaces, the second picture is in the castle park, the building behind the trees is the castle.
But of course we took long walks out of of town, too, enjoying the limitless sky, fleeing from rainshowers (pointlessly) and enjoying the seaside.
Sometimes the wind was so hard that you really had to lean against it, as one picture so nicely shows. *g*
I also found the two signs above, both were meant for the same dyke, just at different places. So, could I ride my mini-horse there or no? LOL!
