Da habe ich doch tatsächlich mal wieder was fertig bekommen!

English Summary:
Wow, I finished something! Here are two new critters to fuel my developing North Light addiction. I found them already in February and sort of gave them to myself to my birthday back then.
Chocolate Chip had a flaking old CM paintjob, so I repainted him (and fixed him, when he managed to hurt himself.. *headdesk*)
Aristokrat is the Hanoverian mold which has a totally untypical elegant neck and a waay too short head originally. I fixed the head and retouched it afterwards and this alone did the overall shape a world of good already. (His blaze and head still need some work)

Better pics will come up soon. :)

He totally needs some tack as in the link above now, so I am sorting through my left overs of leather already.

English Summary:
Our big patient was deemed sound enough to leave the emergency care and can go live in his new stable and surroundings now. The vet says, a careful start of training during the winter is possible and none of us knows how much he has been trained before anyway.

English Summary:
Here's an update of the injured grey that came as an emergency to our hospital:
He made it through the surgeries and is already pretty perky again. During the next weeks, his scars need some further treatment, but at least he's been allowed out of the box already! He is supposed only to walk, will see how that goes.
Everybody is very happy about the outcome of the exciting case.
Now we can focus on finding out about his name and pedigree.

Stories from our horse-hospital (*g*)

Today we have an interesting case to present.
Carl had been browsing the web when he found an auction with a lot of horses being dispersed from a stable. An Irish Draught stallion immediately caught his attention, since one of his goals is to breed good hunters and a stallion like that would be just right to add some substance and friendly temperament to his herd.
But the description also said that the horse had had an accident and a catastrophic breakdown in result of it, so the previous owner was giving it up, since they had no suitably trained vet on hand.

Carl tried to forget about the horse, especially since he'd like to buy a healthy specimen if he had to buy one right now at all. But he couldn't resist checking on the advertising shortly before the auction time would end and he felt great pity for the young horse that was offered for what the knacker would pay for him if no one came and got him first.

So he did bid on the horse, fully expecting that others would have noticed the general quality of the horse as well and that he would be surely not have the winning bid. But against all odds no one else bid and he won the auction.
Now the waiting began, how would the hurt animal cope with the transport? Would he hurt himself even worse on the way?
But here, too, everything went well, almost as if it was supposed to turn out well. Carl carefully cast a look into the transport-vehicle and saw the horse had been clever and lay down. Despite his grave injuries, the stallion was interested in his surroundings and looked at Carl. Together with Mia, our vet, he gave the horse some emergency treatment right in the transporter, because this was the only way to get him into the yard at all.

As they had expected what they saw looked cruel, but they also saw what a nice horse he was. They decided to try everything possible to get him back to full health.

The surgery had already been prepared and after some further examination, the diagnosis enclosed in the auction discription was confirmed and the horse was put under anaesthetic and moved into the sterile room. Now we all have to hope that he'll make it.

(Just to make it completely clear: I did buy the horse in its broken state, the damage did not happen during its ride in the parcel!)

I will post pictures of the "surgery" here, later, to document the repairs.
