Heute habe ich auch so einen Murkstag. Mit Kopfweh aufgestanden (ist aber jetzt weg), keine Lust zu gar nichts. Malen geht auch nicht so richtig. Draußen schüttet es wie aus Eimern. Also hab ich mal im Regal meiner Pferde Staub gewischt.
Normalerweise lege ich dabei immer alle Pferde von dem Brett auf mein Bett. Heute hatte ich da aber frische Wäsche liegen und dachte "ach, stell ich sie schnell auf den Schrank", da sind sie auch aus dem Weg". Soweit der Plan. Leider habe ich die "Stelle
niemals zwei wackelig stehende Modelle nebeneinander"-Regel dabei missachtet. Ich bin kurz in die Küche, um einen Lappen anzufeuchten und höre nur noch "KLONK!". Zurück am Schrank war das Malheur schon passiert: Feuervogel und Coastal Queen hatten sich in die Tiefe gestürzt.

Letztere war intelligent und ist auf meinem Stuhl gelandet, da ist gar nichts passiert. Feuervogel ist auf ihren Vorderbeinen am Boden gelandet- und die haben sich in Einzelteile zerlegt. Die Farbe ist glücklicherweise weitgehend unbeschädigt geblieben.
Da es das linke Vorderbein fast komplett zerlegt hat, habe ich mich entschlossen es komplett zu amputieren und wenn ich schonmal dabei bin, den etwas unkontrolliert wirkenden Galopp in einen fleissigen Trab zu ändern, das geht bei dem Modell nämlich ziemlich einfach.
Die einzige Herausforderung hierbei ist, das ich die Farbe erhalten möchte, also beim Verändern so wenig Schäden wie möglich um die "Op-Stelle" wie möglich anzurichten.
Zunächst habe ich das Pferd von beiden Seiten fotografiert, damit ich nachher die Bemalung wiederherstellen kann.
Und dann kam Feuervogel in den OP. Hier sind Bilder der ersten Phase der Not-OP. *g*
Die Prognose für die Patientin ist gut.

Today I have my own "Grrrh-Arrrrgh-Day".
Woke up with a headache (is gone now), nothing really worked out and it rains like heck all day already. Then when I cleaned the horse-shelves, the abovementioned mares who were parked on my closet, used the chance to do bungee-jumping, just without the chord...
(And isn't it typical?
Normally I lay the horses on my bed when I clean. Just today I thought I put them on the closet, that's faster I thought, because my bed was already covered with clean laundry...)
Coastal Queen did jump onto my chair and was not hurt at all (and I am grateful that she missed my table, where she could have splintered a more clinky colleague into a thousand pieces). Feuervogel was not so clever and apparently made an impact both front feet ahead on the ground. Not even the carpet could stop those legs from fracturing into many pieces, but it *did* help to keep the paint-damage minimal.
So there I stood and eyed glumly what seemed to be the remains of a little mare-fight on the closet. But the good thing is, that if you do remaking yourself, this is not half the drama (as long the remaining pieces are big enough, LOL!!) as it would be to a person who knows nothing about repairing and customizing. So I scraped up the pieces and hurried Feuervogel over to the surgery table. *g* Since the many times fractured left frontleg would need a wire to be stabilized anyway, I sat and ogled and sat and ogled... And then suddenly realised how the slightly awkward pose that this Breyer model has can be turned into a nice trotting pose. So I amputated the left at the shoulder and corrected the hindlegs, then stuffed her with alu-foil and inserted the wire and began with the rebuild. Phase one is documented above, more can be done once this is stable. Before starting to work, I have taken pictures of both sides of the mare to be able to restore the paint once I am done, I will be trying to do it as little harm as possible.
And the little model horse vet in me says: For this mare, the prognosis is good. XD
