Weihnachten bei Oma Lene

Komm, während wir auf die Bescherung warten, spazieren wir durch die Straßen und schauen uns die erleuchteten Fenster an.
Come, while we wait for the giving of gifts, we take stroll through the street and look at all the houses with their warm and welcoming glow.


Und auch mal durchs Fenster, oh da gibt es einen geschmückten Baum.
And we peek into windows, too- oh, there is a Christmas tree in there!


Das ist ja Oma Lenes Haus!
Oh, that's granny Lene's house!


Und da steht sie auch am Fenster und schaut. Hat sie etwas gehört?
And there she is at the window- did she hear something?


Ja, den Schlitten, der hier gerade vorfährt.
Yes, the sleigh that is just now pulling up in front of the house.


Schnell kommt sie an die Tür, freut sich und läutet ihre Handglocke, denn sie weiß, dass alle am liebsten sofort zum Tannenbaum möchten...
Quickly she opens her door and rings the bell merrily, knowing full well that everybody is most anticipant to see the tree and the presents beneath it. *g*




Und so festlich sieht es im Wohnzimmer aus. Alles ist bereit für die Bescherung.
And this is the livingroom in all its seasonal glory as it waits for the guests. Everything is set and very cosy.

24. Dezember

Warten, dass es dunkel wird und die Bescherung kommt... und vorher noch ein kleiner Auftritt einiger Pferde.
Waiting for night to fall and the giving of gifts... and before this happens, a little seasonal show performed by some of the horses.

Deshalb wartet Libelle:auf ihren Auftritt...

Und die Kinder haben nur Quatsch im Kopf, während sie warten, dass...
And the children are totally excited and having silly ideas while they wait...

4. Advent

Was macht man, wenn man zu spät mit dem Weihnachtszeugs anfängt und deshalb keine Perlen und ähnliches zum Kugeln basteln hat? Man nimmt Fotokarton, Lackstifte, Motivstanzer und Silberdraht.
Und dann bastelt man drauf los.


Und schmückt...


Aber ob Heilig Abend der Baum noch steht, ist nicht ganz sicher, weil Carl vergessen hat die Tür zu zumachen und nun will Schneeball sich das Ganze mal angucken...

What do you do, if you have the idea to make all the model-sized Christmas decoration yourself rather later in the year? And there are no beads and other things to make baubles from?
Yeah, you take coloured cardboard, markers, silverwire and a puncher that makes seasonal shapes- and then you sit down and have fun.
And next your decorate.
And then you are very curious if you will find the tree in one piece on Christmas Eve, because Carl forgot to shut the door and now Schneeball has wandered inside and seems rather interested...

Heh, nimm die Zähne von meinem Baum!!!

Da bringt man was Baumartiges zustande und es wird gleich angefressen, unglaublich...

Ja, ich habs wirklich geschafft, ich habe meinen allerersten Nadelbaum gebastelt. Er ist nicht perfekt, aber hat richtig Spaß gemacht und wird sicher nicht der letzte Baum bleiben.



Jetzt muss ich noch schnell Deko basteln und zwar abnehmbare, weil ich den Baum auch in meinem Hoftor-Diorama nutzen möchte wenn kein Winter ist.

I made it, I finished my first tree! It is not perfect, but I had great fun, learned something while making it and this will not be the last tree ever.
Now I need to make some decorations -removeable ones, because I would like to use the tree all year in diorama-settings.

O Tannebaum!

Kennt Ihr diese Projekte, die länger dauern werden als man dachte? Das hier ist mein Aktuelles- es ist fraglich, ob meine Reiter schon dieses Jahr diesen Baum schmücken werden, aber ich werde mein Bestes geben, es noch zu schaffen. *g*

So fragt man sich vielleicht, was daran jetzt soviel Arbeit ist...


Die ganzen Verzweigungen, denn ich hätte es gerne so echt wie möglich.


Außerdem zieht bald eine ganze Familie aus Bayern zu uns auf die Ivorytower Stables, um hier zu leben und zu arbeiten.

English Summary:
We all know those projects that we thought would be finished quickly and then they take much longer, right? Here's one of them, I am making a Christmastree for my riders. And currently it is a bit questionable if I will make it on time, but I will try everything, LOL!!

On the first image one might think what the heck is taking her so long, but on the second one, you get some idea- all those sidebranches make it a way more slow progress.

In other news, soon a whole family is going to move North from Bavaria to our farm to live and work here.
