English Summary:
Finally, I manage to finish something again. "Just" haired/retouched OFs but heck, they have been waiting to get out for a while now.

Friendship:
Already in February, Minime had a surprise when arriving at the stable. Mildred grinned and said "Somebody left something for you here." For me???
In the box I found the young riding-pony stallion Friendship. I said hello and carefully took him out.
During the winter-weeks I had not much time to work with him, so he had a lot of leisure time to spend in the pasture, but now we have started with work on the long lead.
And with today's nice weather, we got a couple of really nice pictures taken.

Dreamthief:
When we brought our Witch Queen home from the pastures where she grew up in a herd of youngsters, she had to leave her best friend behind. After a while of distress, she settled with the situation and was soon well again. Her friend was not so well off and refused to eat well. So we took pity and got her here. Now we have two very happy horses reunited. As an extra, there are two pictures of Dreamthief on her own.

Friendship = Breyer Classic Thoroughbred in Black #935 haired
Dreamthief = Breyer Traditional Touch of Class "Miss Resistance Free" #1126 slightly retouched und haired.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Yep, da ist sogar so schon Leben drin. *g* Dieser Blick!

English Summary:
Sometimes, inspiration hits you hard and you really have to do something about it. For me, paper-sketches do not work with model horses, I need to catch the idea hands on on the intended body. So in this case, a Sonador fell into my hands. *g* I had thought that a free trot that would look credible both on a pasture and under a relaxed rider would look incredibly nice on this mold. So I grabbed saw, tongs and heatgun and had after 15 minutes a rough shape. Some days and a little sculpting later I had captured enough of my idea to be at peace with the idea to let her wait in line now and get more work on the older bodies done before her first. Afterall, she is already developing some character. *g*

And the other pictures, well, guess why there are comparatively few haired Halla-molds around? Above you see why- as soon as you get loose that tail, you have almost the same amount of work again with resculpting the hindleg and closing that considerable gap in the behind...

English Summary:
Yesterday I found two pieces of artificial grass, according to the shop, you are supposed to use it on a decked out Easter table, but of course I had other ideas. I am most delighted how nice it photographs, it looks a lot more realistic on the pictures than I thought it would. And so a couple of my horses were let out onto the new spring pasture to demonstrate it.

Frühling!

Rosalie bekommt bald ein Fohlen. *g*
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

English Summary:
Rosalie will have a foal, soon. The white critter shown above is a no name ceramic foal that has received some minimal sculpting in the meantime and is currently getting some paint-layers.
Adamant is getting new clothes. When I saw him in the sunshine lately, I noticed just how *many* scratches were in his old paint (he was bought as a body once, afterall) and I decided that I am going to refresh him now gradually. Whenever I have a couple of minutes, I paint a bit. And while I am at it, I modified the pattern some, so that I finally like it, too. His face with the tiny star is left unchanged and above you find current in progress pics of him.

Hufe -Hooves

Photobucket"

English Summary:
When sculpting or repairing model horses, the hooves always have been an intimidating challenge to me. But recently I found a great video-tutorial by David Lemon and suddenly hooves look kinda logical. I will definitely try it like this:

Rollkur - nein danke!

http://www.spiegel.de/sport/sonst/0,1518,814628,00.html

http://www.spiegel.de/sport/sonst/0,1518,814241,00.html

English Summary:
What I am raving about is that those tending to a certain super-hyped dressage horse have said they'd be willing to do a little Rollkur with him, because they can not handle him using the classical way. I can't believe that!
If that is the case, you need to go back to the basics and start him new. Words fail me!

The video above shows a lovely contrast- that you need no reins at all to ride higher dressage moves if your horse is apropriately schooled.
(Try removing the bridle of one of the current "shooting stars"..*evil grin*)

Pojken

Pojken

Photobucket

Photobucket

English Summary:
Here Pojken gets his very own post, too, to be properly introduced. His name is the Swedish word for "boy" and as you can guess, he is a Swedish riding pony belonging into granny Lene's herd.
The pictures hopefully show some of the pretty shadings in the OF-colour. I am not completely happy with the tail though (a bit thick) and will likely revist it one day.
